Neurodevelopmental Approach to Treating Complex Trauma with Child & Play Therapy ~ webinar

September 10, 2019

Treating complex trauma is well…inherently complex.  WAAAY more complex that we could ever dream of covering in a one-hour webinar but here I go anyway 🙂

Early in 2019 I wrote a blog post that was shared ultimately thousands of times on taking a neurodevelopmental approach when treating children with complex trauma with child & play therapy.  This is my PASSION- supporting therapists to integrate into a comprehensive treatment approach the various modalities that are healing to the brain, mind, and relationships of children impacted by complex trauma.

As part of my Integrating the Relational Neurosciences with Play Therapy webinar series I’m running throughout the end of 2019, it only made sense to include this as one of the topics!

This is a one-hour introductory webinar that will air live (OR you can watch the recording) on September 18 at 12pm noon eastern time.

At the conclusion of this one hour webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the neurosequential approach to brain development and how this relates to play therapy assessment, treatment planning, and intervention
  2. Articulate the different modalities of play therapy that target different regions in the brain
  3. Articulate why children with a history of complex trauma need an increased amount of presence, co-regulation, and therapist-led approaches in play therapy.

Interested in APT CEs?  This training is approved for one CONTACT APT CE (if you participate live- attendance will be verified) or one NON CONTACT APT CE if you view the recording and take a quiz.

This training is sponsored by Marshall Lyles, LPC-S, LMFT-S, RPT-S.  Marshall Lyles, LPC-S, LMFT-S, RPT-S is an APT Approved Provider: 17-508.

Not a play therapist?  I think you’ll love these anyway.  Because my guess is if you work with children, you are being quite playful.  🙂
